Astaxanthin is a keto-carotenoid, in the form of a blood-red pigment produced naturally in the freshwater microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis.
Astaxanthin is the most powerful antioxidant found in nature, which has many physiological functions in humans and animals. Haematococcus pluvialis is a concentrated form of natural astaxanthin, which has more stable structure and stronger bioactivity.
It can be also found in wild salmon and in Antarctic krill, which find power and vitality in this red substance and a crucial support for extreme cold water.
